After disembarking from the plane and moving into the terminal at Helsinki Airport, the next steps depend on the country you’ve arrived from. If you are arriving from a non-Schengen country, you will need to pass through passport control. However, if you’re arriving from a Schengen area country, you can proceed directly to the baggage claim area. Once you’ve collected your luggage, head towards the exit of the baggage claim zone, where you will enter the arrivals hall. This is where your driver will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name.

Typically, the entire process—from landing to meeting your driver—takes about 30 minutes. If you arrive at the arrivals hall and don’t immediately see your driver, please don’t leave the area; wait a little longer as you might have simply missed them due to the crowd of passengers and greeters. In the rare event that your driver is delayed, they will contact you directly to keep you updated.

Helsinki Airport now has only one terminal, Terminal 2, so you don’t need to worry about which terminal your flight lands at. The exit is the same for all passengers, ensuring that you end up in the right place. You should see a scene similar to the one shown in the illustration below.

We highly recommend turning on your mobile phone after landing and connecting to the airport’s free Wi-Fi if needed, so that your driver can reach you in case of any issues.

If you need to go through passport control and the process is taking longer than expected, it would be helpful to inform your driver, so they can wait for you calmly. The same is advised if you encounter any issues at baggage claim, such as a delayed or missing bag that requires you to file a lost luggage report.
