Helsinki Airport
Arrival Instructions

You've landed at Helsinki Airport. Here is exactly what to do next, step by step.
Step 1. After Landing — Schengen or Non-Schengen?
After disembarking, your next step depends on where you flew from.
If you are arriving from a non-Schengen country — including the UK, USA, and most non-EU countries — you will need to pass through passport control before proceeding further.
If you are arriving from a Schengen area country — most EU member states — you can skip passport control and proceed directly to baggage claim.
Not sure if your country is in the Schengen Area? Check the full list here.
Step 2. Collect Your Luggage
Follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your bags. If your luggage is delayed or missing, you may need to file a lost luggage report at the airline desk — this can take extra time. If that happens, please send a quick message to your driver so they know to wait. Your driver will not leave without you.
Step 3. Exit to the Arrivals Hall
Once you have your luggage, head toward the exit of the baggage claim zone. You will walk directly into the arrivals hall — this is where your driver will be waiting.
Your driver will be holding a sign with your name on it, making it easy to spot them among the crowd.
Step 4. Meet Your Driver
The entire process from landing to meeting your driver typically takes around 30 minutes, depending on passport control and baggage claim wait times.
If you reach the arrivals hall and do not immediately see your driver, do not leave the area. Stay calm and wait a few minutes — it is easy to miss someone in a busy arrivals hall. In the rare event that your driver is running late, they will contact you directly.
One Terminal — No Confusion
Helsinki Airport currently operates from a single terminal — Terminal 2. All flights, both domestic and international, arrive and depart from the same terminal. You do not need to check which terminal your flight uses — the arrivals hall exit is the same for everyone.
Important Tips
Turn on your phone immediately after landing. Connect to the airport's free Wi-Fi if needed. This allows your driver to contact you instantly if there are any timing adjustments.
Passport control taking longer than expected? Send your driver a quick message. They will wait calmly and track your situation.
Baggage issue at claim? Same advice — let your driver know. Filing a lost luggage report can take 20–40 minutes, and your driver will wait for you.
