Book your transfer

Travel directly from Helsinki Airport (HEL) to Hotel Kämp in a private, pre-booked car with an English-speaking driver. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, helps with your luggage, and takes you straight to the door of Hotel Kämp at Pohjoisesplanadi 29 — no taxi queue, no meter running in traffic, and one fixed price agreed the moment you book. The drive into the centre of Helsinki is about 17 km and takes roughly 25 to 30 minutes, and the fare is per vehicle, not per person.

Hotel Kämp has been Helsinki's grand address since 1887 — the first luxury hotel in Finland, a five-star landmark on the Esplanade and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Arriving there after a flight should feel as composed as the hotel itself, and that is exactly what a pre-booked transfer is for: a known driver, a known car, and a known price, waiting for you the moment you land. We have been driving international travellers across the Helsinki area and Finland since 2008, and have carried more than 20,000 passengers.

Fixed fares to Hotel St. George by vehicle class

Hotel St. George sits in the central Helsinki zone, so your transfer from the airport is a single fixed fare per vehicle — it does not change with traffic, time of day, or the exact street in the centre. The exact price for your details, including any extra stop, is shown instantly in the booking form above.

Why pre-book a private transfer to Hotel St. George

A fixed price, not a running meter. A metered taxi from Helsinki Airport into the centre is unpredictable — the fare climbs in traffic and at red lights, and you have no certainty before you get in. With us you see the full price before you book and pay exactly that, whatever the traffic and whatever the hour.

An arrival that matches the hotel. Hotel St. George is a place built around considered design and calm — a taxi queue after a long flight is the wrong way to start a stay here. Instead, your driver is already waiting inside arrivals with a name sign, helps with your luggage, and walks you to a clean, modern car, then sets you down right at the entrance on Yrjönkatu, opposite Old Church Park.

A driver who waits for you. We track your flight in real time. If you land late, your driver is still there — with up to 60 minutes of free waiting time included. No rebooking, no second fare, no scramble for a car at a busy terminal rank.

One car, door to door, with your bags. The centre of Helsinki is well served by the airport train, but it leaves you at the Central Railway Station with your luggage — a short walk from the hotel, but still a change and a walk with cases. A private transfer removes every change: one car, from the arrivals hall straight to the hotel door.

Right for business and for leisure. Whether you are flying in for a meeting, a design-focused city break, or a stay built around the hotel's spa and wellness offering, a pre-booked car sets the tone for the visit and gives you a clean receipt for expenses.

The journey from Helsinki Airport to Hotel St. George

Helsinki Airport lies about 20 km north of the city centre, and the drive to Hotel St. George takes roughly 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. The route runs south from the terminals into the city, arriving at Yrjönkatu 13 in the Kamppi district, directly across from Old Church Park (Vanha kirkkopuisto) — one of central Helsinki's best-known green spaces.

You travel in a clean, modern car with a professional driver who knows the centre and exactly where to stop at the hotel's entrance. We are a pre-booked service — please book at least 24 hours ahead. After booking you receive an email confirmation with your booking reference and your driver's meeting instructions, and on the day we monitor your flight so pickup follows your actual landing time.

For the return leg, we collect you from the hotel lobby at your chosen time and bring you back to Helsinki-Vantaa for departure, with the same fixed pricing.

About Hotel St. George

Hotel St. George opened on 2 May 2018 at Yrjönkatu 13, in a historic building directly across from Old Church Park in the heart of Helsinki. The hotel is run by Kämp Collection Hotels — the same group behind Hotel Kämp — and was built around a different idea of luxury: art, holistic wellbeing and Nordic design rather than simple grandeur. Spread across seven floors and around 10,000 square metres, the hotel has 148 individually decorated rooms and five suites, and is a member of Design Hotels.

A building with a national history

The oldest parts of the building date back to the 1840s, but its most striking section — the palatial façade facing Yrjönkatu — was designed in 1890 by a 26-year-old architect named Onni Tarjanne, who would go on to design the Finnish National Theatre. Long before it became a hotel, the building housed the Finnish Literature Society, the printing house of Suometar, one of the first Finnish-language newspapers, and the Helsinki Finnish Club — all central to the 19th-century movement that helped shape an independent Finland. That history is woven into the interiors today rather than hidden behind them.

Arriving through the lobby

The hotel's entrance and lobby were rebuilt in close collaboration with the Helsinki City Museum, respecting the building's history while giving it a grand new arrival. Guests stepping in from Yrjönkatu are greeted by Tianwu, a large kite sculpture by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei — one of many pieces from an art programme run with the Helsinki Art Museum and the National Gallery. It is an arrival that sets expectations for the rest of the stay.

The Wintergarden and dining

At the centre of the hotel is the Wintergarden, a glass-covered courtyard with a living-room feel, decorated with fairytale murals by Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi that nod to the same national-romantic period as the building's architecture. Restaurant Boon Nam, led by chef Tomi Björck, brings Thai flavours to the hotel's dining scene, while St. George Bakery & Bar serves fresh bread, salads and coffee through the day in a relaxed setting.

Spa and wellbeing

Guests aged 16 and over have access to St. George Care, the hotel's spa, which includes an indoor pool, sauna and gym, with treatments available to book. Wellbeing runs through the hotel's whole concept — rooms are designed as calm, restorative spaces, with Duxiana beds, marble bathrooms with rain showers, and amenities from the Swedish brand L:A Bruket.

Old Church Park and the surrounding streets

Hotel St. George faces Old Church Park (Vanha kirkkopuisto), one of central Helsinki's best-loved green spaces, laid out around the city's oldest surviving church. The Kamppi district around the hotel mixes quiet residential streets with some of Helsinki's best shopping and dining, and the hotel sits within easy walking distance of the Esplanade, Senate Square and the Design District.

Landmarks within walking distance

Helsinki Central Railway Station is about a seven-minute walk away, putting the whole rail network — including the airport line — on the hotel's doorstep. Helsinki Cathedral and Senate Square are around a kilometre away, and the Market Square and South Harbour about 750 metres, both an easy stroll. The Ateneum art museum, the Esplanade Park and the flagship stores of Finnish design are all within the same short radius.

Arriving for business

With meeting and event space including the Wintergarden, bookable for private functions for up to around 130 people, Hotel St. George is a natural base for corporate travel as well as leisure stays. Its central Kamppi location keeps it close to Helsinki's business district, and every transfer comes with a full receipt suitable for expense reporting.

Combining Hotel St. George with the rest of Finland

Guests often treat Helsinki as the start or end of a wider Finnish trip. From Hotel St. George we can arrange the same fixed-price transfers onward to Porvoo's old town, the Archipelago Sea around Turku and Naantali, or the lakeland towns further north — all with the same driver and car standard throughout the journey.

Why a private transfer rather than the airport taxi rank

The taxi rank at Helsinki Airport is unmetered competition — prices vary by operator and queues can build after a wave of arrivals, with no fixed fare agreed before you get in. A pre-booked transfer to Hotel St. George removes all of that: a known driver, a known car, a fixed price, and a name sign waiting the moment you clear the gate — a calmer start to a stay built around exactly that kind of calm.
