Arrival Instructions — Meeting Your Driver at Helsinki Airport

You've landed at Helsinki Airport. Here is exactly what to do next, step by step.

You've landed at Helsinki Airport. Here is exactly what to do next, step by step.

Step 1. After Landing — Schengen or Non-Schengen?

After disembarking, your next step depends on where you flew from.

If you are arriving from a non-Schengen country — including the UK, USA, and most non-EU countries — you will need to pass through passport control before proceeding further.

If you are arriving from a Schengen area country — most EU member states — you can skip passport control and proceed directly to baggage claim.

Not sure if your country is in the Schengen Area? Check the full list here.

Step 2. Collect Your Luggage

Follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your bags. If your luggage is delayed or missing, you may need to file a lost luggage report at the airline desk — this can take extra time. If that happens, please send a quick message to your driver so they know to wait. Your driver will not leave without you.

Step 3. Exit to the Arrivals Hall

Once you have your luggage, head toward the exit of the baggage claim zone. You will walk directly into the arrivals hall — this is where your driver will be waiting.

Your driver will be holding a sign with your name on it, making it easy to spot them among the crowd.

Step 4. Meet Your Driver

The entire process from landing to meeting your driver typically takes around 30 minutes , depending on passport control and baggage claim wait times.

If you reach the arrivals hall and do not immediately see your driver, do not leave the area . Stay calm and wait a few minutes — it is easy to miss someone in a busy arrivals hall. In the rare event that your driver is running late, they will contact you directly.

One Terminal — No Confusion

Helsinki Airport currently operates from a single terminal — Terminal 2 . All flights, both domestic and international, arrive and depart from the same terminal. You do not need to check which terminal your flight uses — the arrivals hall exit is the same for everyone.

Important Tips

Turn on your phone immediately after landing. Connect to the airport's free Wi-Fi if needed. This allows your driver to contact you instantly if there are any timing adjustments.

Passport control taking longer than expected? Send your driver a quick message. They will wait calmly and track your situation.

Baggage issue at claim? Same advice — let your driver know. Filing a lost luggage report can take 20–40 minutes, and your driver will wait for you.

Meet & greet at Helsinki Airport — the details

One terminal, one arrivals hall

Helsinki Airport (HEL) has a single terminal, and all passengers exit into the same public arrivals area — whether you land from a Schengen or a non-Schengen flight. That makes meeting your driver simple: walk out of baggage claim through the sliding doors, and the greeting area is directly in front of you. Your driver stands there with a sign showing your name.

Your waiting time is already paid for

Every airport pickup includes 60 minutes of free waiting counted from your flight's actual touchdown — we track the flight, so delays don't eat into it. Passport control and bags usually take 15–40 minutes; even on a slow evening you will be within the free window. There is no need to rush and no reason to worry that the driver will leave.

If you don't see the driver

Don't leave the arrivals hall and don't join the taxi queue — call or message the number in your confirmation, or WhatsApp us at +358 400 913 004. In practice this almost never happens: the driver is inside before your flight lands and watches the exit doors. If your phone has no roaming, the airport's free Wi-Fi lets you reach us on WhatsApp.

Night arrivals and early departures

We meet every flight we are booked for, including the ones that land at 00:40 or leave at 05:55 — the price does not change at night, on weekends or on holidays. For early departures we recommend a pickup 2 hours 15 minutes before a Schengen flight and 2 hours 45 minutes before a long-haul one; we will suggest the exact time when confirming your booking.

Arriving by ship or train instead?

The same meet & greet works at Helsinki's ferry terminals (Katajanokka, Olympia, West Harbour) and at the Central Railway Station: give us your ship or train number and the driver tracks it just like a flight. See how the whole process works or get an instant fixed quote on the booking page.
